Fees sit under the Gambling (Licence Fees and Annual Fees) Regulations 2022. The Commission’s remote-casino licence page states that new fees come into effect on 1 October 2026 — check the live schedule before relying on any figure above.
How Operators Get Licensed
A remote casino operating licence allows an operator to offer casino games to customers via a website, mobile phone, TV or other online service. That includes poker, roulette, blackjack and other casino games, as well as online slot games.
The Commission’s own page states you need a licence from them, regardless of where you are based in the world, if:
you are providing facilities for gambling to consumers in Great Britain online (or through any other means of remote communication), or
any part of your remote gambling equipment is based in Great Britain
There is a specific remote operating licence for each type of gambling activity provided. Remote licences from Gibraltar, Malta, Alderney, the Isle of Man or other territories do not authorise activity in Great Britain.
The process typically takes 2–6 months before a 5-year licence is granted. Once listed, a licence can show as Active, Expired, Forfeited, Lapsed, Pending, Revoked, Revoked (non-payment of fee), Surrendered, or Suspended. Domain names and trading names attached to a licence are self-reported by the business and can show as Active, Inactive, or White label — the Commission notes it cannot guarantee third-party accuracy of those entries.
After issue, operators must file annual assurance statements (Condition 12.1.1) and follow remote customer-interaction rules under LCCP 3.4.3 (from September 2023).
How to Verify a UKGC Licence

Match the domain you are actually on to the domain listed against the UKGC account. Are UKGC Casinos Safe for Irish Players?

The business has 8 weeks to resolve your complaint from the date it is received.
If you are not satisfied, escalate to the operator’s named Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider — you cannot go to ADR before using the operator’s own process first.
The Commission’s contact channels are for reporting a business or a regulatory issue. The UKGC does not resolve individual player-versus-operator money disputes; that is what ADR is for.
